No drumroll. Cue the Hallelujah Chorus. It’s the second coffee in our new AXIS MUNDI series, from the beautiful country of El Salvador!
Michael, our owner, had the privilege of traveling to El Salvador earlier this year as a judge for the Cup of Excellence (COE) Competition. And THIS COFFEE from El Conacaste was the first place winner of El Salvador's 2022 Cup of Excellence! While in El Salvador, he also visited Finca El Conacaste and met the owners who are working hard to preserve the incredible flora and fauna of the area and respect the environment.
Some of their recent efforts include the reforestation of pasture land with pine and cypress trees so the farm can be an important ecosystem to preserve the natural resources & biodiversity of the area. The farm uses renewable energy based on solar panels and small hydraulic turbines. And they also focus on giving work to the inhabitants of the Majaditas Canton, located within the Montecristo National Park, so that there isn’t pressure on the natural resources of the park.
