Long before the Spanish conquistadors arrived in Guatemala, the land was ruled by various Mayan kingdoms and the history is rich & deep in this beautiful country! It’s also home to the deepest lake in Central America, more than 30 volcanoes, the longest war in Latin American history (almost 40 years), and of course the gorgeous quetzal bird.
