The Sensory Sacraments
Take A Bite. Or A Sip.
Come and taste, take a bite (errr, or a sip). Experience the magic. Eve isn't to blame, and neither are you. The forbidden fruit is oh-so-sweet. Do you desire knowledge? This caffeinated glory is yours for the taking. So, partake.
Meet Forbidden Fruit, our ever-evolving tribute to the untamed beauty of natural process African coffees. This coffee is wild. It's seductive. It's unapologetically natural. Just like the snake intended.
This lot is grown from the Wush Wush varietal, one of Ethiopia's most prized and rare coffee treasures, named after the town where it was first discovered in the Bench Maji zone. It comes from farmers working at extreme elevations in the Oromia region, where the terroir alone creates real complexity, then goes through a 120-hour extended dry fermentation that develops the explosive, wine-like character Wush Wush is known for. The 350 farmers of this cooperative have spent years preserving trees over 50 years old, producing lower yields but extraordinary cups.
